Our Story

Built in a garage. Driven by curiosity.

Barcbots is a non-profit robotics educational company in Cupertino, CA where kids learn engineering, programming, and what it means to compete at the highest level.

Who We Are

Not a Rec Program

The best way to think about Barcbots is like a club sports team. We practice just as often, and just as hard, as any top-tier athletic program. Students show up, stay engaged, and push each other to get better every session.

We meet and practice out of a garage in Cupertino — no fancy facility, just focus, tools, and a drive to build something great.

What We Teach

Robots & Code

For elementary school students, we teach VEX IQ robotics. Middle school students move into either VEX IQ or VEX EDR, a more advanced platform that demands deeper engineering.

Beyond the robot, we teach computer programming so students build both the mechanical intuition and the software skills to bring their ideas to life.

Our Standard

Excellence Is the Expectation

Our students have won the California VEX IQ Robotics State Championship three years running. Teams earn invitations to the State Tournament by winning local competitions, and the top performers qualify for the VEX World Championships.

But trophies aren't how we measure success. We measure it by the number of students who come back the next year — and by the ones who go on to join their high school robotics and programming teams. That's the real scoreboard.

Commitment

We Show Up

Our teams practice five to seven times a week, from two to five hours of practice. When a competition is on the horizon, we add extra sessions to make sure the team is ready.

We compete not only in local tournaments around Silicon Valley, but all over the state of California, all over the United States, as well as attending global signature events. Every student is expected to attend at least 80% of competitions, because this is a team effort and everyone counts.

Community

A Family Effort

As a company, we encourage and welcome parent participation. There are opportunities throughout the season for families to get involved — from mentoring to tournament logistics.

Barcbots is a registered non-profit corporation. Everything we do goes back into the students, the equipment, and the experience of building something together.
